Save 20% On Marvel’s Spider-man 2 On Steam

This was fixed at the end of January 2025, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 being brought to PC. In the weeks since, the PC version of the game has now seen multiple updates, all of which have targeted performance issues and bugs. I am directly reviewing this game in comparison to marvels spiderman and the miles morales game only. Everything about this game aside from web wings mechanic was a downgrade. The game should have had coop, switching between miles and peters feels pointless and unless you are doing a specific mission for them switching feels pointless. Very few side quests in the game and the few you do have are fetch quests with no impact to the story.

Peter warns Otto that the interface could impact his mind and personality. While investigating a breakout at the Raft, Spider-Man learns that some of his greatest enemies—Martin, Electro, Vulture, Rhino, and Scorpion—have escaped. Norman declares martial law and blames Spider-Man for the incident, branding him a fugitive.

These characters do add a bit more flavour to the world and its largely homogenous population of NPCs you’re clearly not intended to look at too closely. Speaking of boss battles, that’s one area that takes a noticeable step up from our initial tangos with Kingpin, Vulture, and the rest. One of my criticisms of the first in Insomniac’s series was how uninspired many of the showdowns felt, with their quicktime-heavy fights making a light impact. Improvements were made in Miles Morales, but here in the full-fledged sequel, boss battles really come to life. You’re made to wait a little too long for them sometimes, but when they do arrive they never fail to excite.

On the Eastern side of it is a (relatively) small building that’s on an angle compared to the buildings around it. Near where the train tracks stop (on the map screen, at least), look for a building under construction with a yellow crane over it. Head to the Eastern side of the building and get to the top of the yellow-netted scaffolding to find the Spider-Bot. Head for the North-Eastern corner of the plaza and look for the building wall with a vertical mural, depicting a cat on the bottom, a book in the middle, and a woman at the top. The game will be available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Save big on Death Stranding 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us series, Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, and more PS5 hits during Prime Big Deal Days.

Insomniac brought back the ability to change the super-suit you have equipped. They reduced the amount of suits Peter has, as Peter and Miles each have their own suits. There is also a variety of side characters that will pop up throughout the adventure.

Development of Marvel’s Spider-Man, the first licensed game by Insomniac in its then-22-year history, began in 2014 and took approximately four years. Insomniac was given the choice of using any character from Marvel’s catalog to work on; Spider-Man was chosen both for his appeal to the employees and the similarities in traversal gameplay to their previous game Sunset Overdrive (2014). The game design took inspiration from the history of Spider-Man across all media but Marvel Comics.

You must then fly through the green rings to get a speed boost, fly from one Wind Tunnel to the next to stay in midair until you reach Astoria district. The easiest way is to use the wind tunnel north-east of Financial district and the one over the river. While on a Web Line look down at enemies and press to do stealth takedown. You can change the abilities from the “Abilities” Menu at any time for Peter. Fight enemies in Crimes until the abilities recharge and keep defeating enemies with these abilities in Crimes. For it to count you have to land the final hit that kills the enemy using these 4 abilities, for a total of 100 kills.

Upon re-bonding with Harry, the symbiote transforms Harry into the monstrous Venom, who then kills Kraven the Hunter and creates symbiote nests around the city. The map tracker shows exactly how many collectibles you found in each district and how many are remaining. If a type has a “lock icon” it means the collectible type hasn’t been unlocked yet and is gated behind story progress or other collectible progress. The final collectible of some types only spawns after having found the rest. You can still get everything after the story in free-roam including side quests. On your way to 100% district completion you will unlock all collectible trophies automatically.

Fear not, because there are dozens and dozens of suits to unlock, with myriad colorful skins to pick from on each of them. From modern interpretations of classics to returning fan favourites, there are treats waiting for Spider-Man fans of all generations. They are now all pure cosmetics as well – a smart separation of form and function means picking the skills and abilities you equip are separate from your choice of suit. Standard open-world filler activities are here aplenty, and that’s one area where Spider-Man 2 hasn’t moved with the times or shown ambition at all. Collectibles, photo opportunities, and rather basic street crimes are still here and, despite having a few slightly more interesting quirks this time around, they only very occasionally excite.

From Harry Osborne’s ominous pledge to the surprise return of Mr. Negative, there’s plenty to whet your appetite before jumping into the full game later this year. Venom, one of the key villains of the game is also heavily featured. Since the game lets you play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, this motif of them coming together to overcome their villains. While the first Spider-Man title launched on PS4 and was then remastered for the PS5, Spider-Man Miles Morales was released across both simultaneously. Moving forward, it’s evident Insomniac is ready to shift into a new gear focusing solely on Sony’s latest hardware. An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Marvel’s Spider-Man!

You’ll regularly be stopping the same getaways with the same few button presses (the button-mashing from previous games is mercifully largely gone) or stopping a break-in by battering the same few goons. Spider-Man 2, and to an extent all great Spider-Man stories, tackle themes of adolescence and puberty – a time of uncertainty for even the most normal of teenagers trying to control bodily fluids. We join Miles at this exact point in his life, with family ties straining, friendships facing fresh challenges, and life decisions of genuine importance being posed for the first time. Actor Nadji Jeter displays all the range needed for the role, continuing to excel as a younger Spider-Man maturing before our eyes. He’s in his early twenties so has already navigated the difficult years that Miles finds himself in, but thanks to the symbiote suit, he’s working his way through yet more bodily changes.

Marvel’s Spider-man 2 Digital Deluxe Edition

On the whole it’s a tried and true set-up for a Spider-Man story—the perils of leading a double life, making sacrifices to do the right thing, all that jazz. But that does also mean it’s a story we’ve seen an awful lot of times before, not only across films, TV, and comics, but also in the previous two games in this series. Each game in the series has a main villain that is set up early in the game, and persists to the end.

After a series of catastrophic events, Miles has to battle Peter to remove the symbiote from Peter’s body. Miles initially helps rid Peter of the symbiote while Harry seeks to get it back. The symbiote re-bonds to Harry, who is resentful that Peter initially kept the symbiote to himself due to its malevolent influence on him.
